LATIN AMERICA - It is Not Against Dilma, it is Not Against Lula, it is Against the Advancement of the Brazilian People

The word people frightens the business leadership, the bourgeoisie and the Latin American middle class, they become uneasy when they hear about working class, let alone when the impassioned cry of the rebellious peasants resounds like an echo of an erupting volcano. Indigenous peoples have spent more than five hundred years resisting, it will not be now that they will be put down.

These presidents who were elected in a democracy with the vote of those abused the most by the system, the oligarchy and the ungrateful call them populist; with the clear desire to belittle the vote of the people just for being that: the people.

It is not against Maduro. It is not against Evo. It is not against Correa. It is not against Cristina, it is against the advancement of the people. It is not against Fidel, it is against the integrity of the Cuban people. It is not against Chavez, it is against the Bolivarian Revolution. It is not against any corruption by progressive governments, it is against the opportunity to provide the humiliated social classes with a meaningful life. To explain that with colors, it is against the blossoming of the working class, peasant and proletarian.

It is against the health and educational system, and against policies that support social equality, inclusion, human rights and seek to dignify the Historical Memory. It is against those who strive for the independence of their people and against those who are against any US interference in the region. No business leadership is happy if those who are oppressed are aware of freedom of thought and action. If they know and exercise their rights. If they also have access to the basic rights that is the obligation of the state to provide. What would happen to the oligarchy if the oppressed rise up? If the illiterate learn to read and write? If universities awake and give free rein to the analytical thinking of its students rather than destroy it? If the college graduate had as his high mission no other thing than strive for equality for all? What kind of oligarchy can agree on that?

In a nutshell, what South America is now undergoing is the result of the excellent logistics of the dirty war in every country. Without resorting to bloody dictatorships as in previous decades, through polarization of the media they have been able to achieve the brainwash of the Latin American middle class which because their classism, racism and inhumane behavior is easy to manipulate. It is an amorphous mass devoid of reason marching on the streets of their countries protesting and showing support for the incongruous, the unfair and inhuman. What we have experienced in Brazil over the weekend is a clear example of the success of the dirty war in the region.

There is no worse enemy for a people in a developing country than the middle class that has benefited from the policies of progressive governments. Par excellence it is ungrateful, avaricious, and treacherous. It is submissive and chameleonic. It is the steamroller. It is the springboard. For the oligarchy it is the wedge.

To exemplify and speak clearly how easy can be the middle class manipulated; just see the calamity of Guatemala. Where thousands turned out to protest corruption (and rightly so) but for anything in the world (protested the Genocide) were willing to change the system and to implement necessary transformations, for that reason they served the purpose of the coup d’état against Perez Molina (the genocidal) by the oligarchy and the US embassy in Guatemala. (The guy was already burned, he was a disposable poor man). And by taking advantage of the demonstrations and emboldened fanaticism they were made to believe that they, the protesters, forced the resignation of Molina and Baldetti.

All they did, the business leadership, the military and the US embassy was to perform a change of lackey in the presidential office, placing one far more servile and ad hoc with the level of religious fanaticism, classism and xenophobia which the Guatemalan middle class display with gusto. And as icing on the cake they displayed the guy in the shop window and these middle class and bourgeoisie fell into the trap, and gave him their vote. And so, feeling happy and satisfied they think they made history after making some of the corrupt renounce the presidency and placing instead another usurer with a puritanical air. Guatemala has what it deserves.

In such a way is the Latin American middle class manipulated. Do not forget the coup in Honduras and the role it played there. In Argentina, its new president in three months now has swept away the 12 years achievements of Nestor and Cristina governments. In Venezuela they elected a right-wing National Assembly, and they enthusiastically applaud the fact that for the second year in a row Obama has declared the country a threat to US security. In Brazil, the middle class is attempting a coup or at least meet the fate of Venezuela and hopping that Obama (or Hillary, who no doubt will be the new president of the United States) also sign a decree declaring the country of “jogo bonito” a threat thus preparing the ground for a possible military invasion.

Without ideology, without humanity, without analytical thinking, unwilling to move, and without integrity, the Latin American middle class serve as the useful tool for any interference seeking to stop the advancement of the people.
